Statistics of import and export amount of IVD related products of China Customs from January to April 2021

According to the import and export data of key commodities from the General Administration of Customs of China, from January to April 2021, China’s import and export volume of IVD-related products (mainly IVD reagents and IVD instruments) reached 12.488 billion US dollars.Of this, imports amounted to US $6.285 billion and exports to US $6.204 billion.

I.The imports of IVD-related products

Germany is the largest source of imports

From January to April 2021, China’s imports of IVD-related products totaled US $6.285 billion, with Germany, the United States, Ireland, Switzerland and Japan as the main sources of imports, accounting for 76.45 percent of the total.

From the import market of IVD reagents and IVD instruments, the top five imports of IVD reagents are Germany, the United States, Ireland, Switzerland and France, accounting for 83.09%. The top five imports of IVD instruments are the United States, Japan, Singapore, Germany and Switzerland, accounting for a total of 74.22%.

Imports from countries along the “One belt, one road” exceed 400 million US dollars.

From January to April this year, China imported US $410 million worth of IVD-related products from the countries along the “One belt, one road” .

Among these countries, Singapore, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Thailand and Malaysia are the main import markets, accounting for 94.10% of the total.

Shanghai, Beijing, Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Liaoning are the main import destinations.

From January to April this year, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangdong, Jiangsu and Liaoning were the main import provinces (cities) of China’s IVD-related products, with a total import volume of US $5.772 billion, accounting for 91.84%.

Ⅱ.The exports of  IVD-related products

Germany is the largest export market.

From January to April this year, China’s exports of IVD-related products reached 6.204 billion US dollars, of which Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Austria and Hong Kong ranked among the top five export markets, accounting for 70.54%.

From the export markets of IVD reagents and IVD instruments, the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, the United States and France ranked among the top five exports of IVD reagents, accounting for a total of 75.76%. The exports of IVD instruments from the United States, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India and Germany ranked in the top five, accounting for 53.19%.

Exports to countries along the”One belt, one road” exceeded 800 million US dollars

From January to April this year, China’s exports of IVD-related products to the countries along the “One belt, one road” reached 803 million US dollars.

Among these countries, Indonesia, the Czech Republic, India, the Philippines and Thailand are the main export markets, accounting for 48.01% of the total.

Fujian, Zhejiang, Beijing, Guangdong and Jiangsu are the main export destinations.

From January to April this year, Fujian, Zhejiang, Beijing, Guangdong and Jiangsu were the main export provinces (cities) of China’s IVD-related products, with the export volume reaching 5.065 billion US dollars, accounting for 81.64 percent.
