On May 12, according to the China Government Procurement Network, the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University issued a bidding announcement, refusing to bid for imported products for a large purchase order of 10 million large medical equipment!
According to the announcement, the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University has a budget of 23 million to purchase a set of equipment, including DSA and supporting equipment.
It is worth noting that it is clearly stated in the procurement documents that the products purchased this time are “non-imported products”, and this project does not accept consortium bids.
A group of top hospitals begin to purchase domestic products
In fact, in addition to the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, top domestic medical institutions such as the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Science and Technology, Peking Union Medical College, Sichuan Chuanbei Medical College and other top medical institutions have also gradually begun to purchase domestic medical equipment.
Take Peking Union Medical College Hospital as an example，In recent years, a large number of medical equipment purchase orders have begun to purchase only domestic products.
A single order is not enough to explain anything, but it is very important that top domestic medical institutions are willing to take the initiative to purchase domestic medical equipment.
Public hospitals are prohibited from purchasing imports without approval!
Nowadays, more and more large hospitals have begun to choose to purchase domestically produced medical equipment. Policy support is on the one hand, and on the other hand, a number of excellent domestically produced medical equipment enterprises have begun to emerge in China. Some products are almost the same as imported ones in terms of technology and quality. Even domestic production has surpassed in some areas.
Previously, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection also issued a document in support of domestic medical equipment: From all dependence on imports to several world’s first, the hard-core counterattack of domestic CT. Named and praised domestic high-end equipment manufacturers such as Neusoft Medical, Xinhua Medical, and United Imaging Medical.
Recently, the three departments of Anhui Province jointly have issued the “Notice on Regulating the Government’s Procurement of Imported Products in Public Medical Institutions”, which directly requires that local products should be preferentially purchased if domestic production can meet the requirements; public hospitals are not allowed to carry out imported products without approval.
At the same time, in the centralized procurement catalogue and procurement quota standard of Shanxi Province from 2022 to 2023, the “Public Hospital Class B Large-scale Medical Equipment Project” is also included in the scope of government procurement projects for public services, CT, MRI, DSA, LA, SPECT, etc. Class B large-scale medical equipment is preferentially purchased domestically.
