The country has held five consecutive symposiums to support the innovative development of medical devices

Recently (July 17-25, 2025), the National Healthcare Security Administration organized five consecutive symposiums on healthcare support for innovative drugs and devices.

Five symposiums focused on the field of innovative medical devices, covering specific contents such as national policies, enterprise research and development, product applications, and healthcare payment. They comprehensively and fully covered every key link of innovative medical devices from research and development to application, and from policies to the market, conveying the strong determination and clear orientation of the decision-making level to support the development of innovative medical devices.

Innovative medical devices, as a key driving force for the upgrading of the national medical industry, have always attracted much attention.

At the beginning of this year, the state shortened the review and approval time limit for clinical trials of innovative drugs and medical devices from 60 working days to 30 working days, pressing the “accelerator button” for the launch of innovative drugs and medical devices. In the first half of the year, a total of 45 innovative medical devices were approved for marketing, an increase of 87.5% compared with the same period last year.

Obviously, under the national full-chain support policies, China’s innovative medical devices are standing at a critical juncture of explosive development.
