NMPA is Piloting Electronic Registration Certificates

On October 19, 2020, NMPA released an Announcement Regarding the Pilot of Electronic Registration Certificate (2020, No. 117). The electronic registration certificate of medical devices will be piloting from October 19, 2020 for providing more efficient and convenient government services.

The relevant matters are hereby announced as follows:

• The pilot time will be from 19 October 2020 to August 31, 2021.
• Newly approved Class III domestic medical devices, Class II and Class III imported medical devices that are initially registered will all be benefit from this Announcement.
• During the pilot period, electronic and paper registration certificate will be issued simultaneously and both of them have the same legal effect.
• The electronic registration certificate will not include the Product Technical Requirements (PTR).
