According to JOINCHAIN statistics, from 2017 to 2021, a total of 7749 II and III medical device manufacturers were added, with an average annual growth of 1550. The new value-added was the highest in 2020, 2960, and the lowest in 2019.

Guangdong province took the lead in five years

From 2017 to 2021, the largest annual average growth of class II and III medical device manufacturers in China was in Guangdong Province, with 274. Followed by Jiangsu Province and Zhejiang Province, with an average annual growth of 161 and 111 respectively.

Among the newly increased production of class II enterprises only, Shenzhen ranked first

Among them, Shenzhen was the city with the largest number of new enterprises producing only class II products in recent five years, with a total of 433 new enterprises, with an average annual growth of 87.

The newly added enterprises that only produce class III products are concentrated in Beijing and Shanghai

In the past five years, the newly added enterprises producing only category III products are mainly concentrated in Beijing, with the largest growth of 18 in 2021 and 8 in Shanghai and Beijing in 2018.

From 2017 to 2021, Tianjin, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing and Suzhou added the largest number of II and III enterprises in the past five years, of which 12 were added in Tianjin in 2017, 4 in Shanghai in 2018, 4 in Shenzhen in 2019, 4 in Beijing in 2020 and 2 in Suzhou in 2021.
