Current situation forecast and import and export data analysis of China’s rehabilitation medical device market in 2021

In recent years, with the continuous application of new technology in China’s medical device industry, new products of rehabilitation equipment emerge in endlessly, including rehabilitation robots, rehabilitation aids, physiotherapy equipment and rehabilitation function evaluation system.

Data shows that China’s exports of rehabilitation equipment exceeded imports from 2016 to 2019. In 2019, China’s imports of rehabilitation equipment reached US $2.353 billion and exports reached US $6.711 billion.

Rehabilitation aids intersect with medical devices, mainly focused on orthoses and some personal medical aids.According to the market scale of three major categories of wheelchairs, hearing aids and prosthetics in medical rehabilitation equipment, the data show that in 2020, the market scale of electric wheelchairs reached 14 billion yuan, the market scale of hearing aids reached 5 billion yuan, and the market scale of prosthetics reached 2 billion yuan, totaling 23 billion yuan.

Among them, the market growth rate of wheelchairs and hearing aids is more than 15%, which will still be the focus of the development of rehabilitation medical aids in China in the future.
