China Mobile officially enters the medical device industry!

China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd. recently has been granted a patent for the design of the “Portable Color Ultrasound Instrument”, according to theTianyancha APP. The announcement number is CN306650066S, and the application date is October 2020.According to the patent abstract, this design product is used as a portable color ultrasound instrument for medical testing.

As early as the early stage of the epidemic outbreak in 2020, China Mobile made use of its own communication advantages, cooperated with Shenzhen Huada Zhizao, and deployed 5g remote ultrasound system in Wuhan Leishenshan Hospital for patients in the isolation area to carry out lung examination.

This is not the first attempt of China Mobile in telemedicine. On March 16, 2019, spanning 3000 km, after three hours, Ling Zhipei, chief neurosurgeon of Hainan Hospital of PLA General Hospital, completed the implantation of “brain pacemaker” for a patient in PLA General Hospital. This is the first 5G based long-distance human surgery in China that China Mobile has completed together with   PLA General Hospital.

In recent years, the mobile medical market has grown rapidly, and the market scale has increased from 1.98 billion yuan in 2013 to 29 billion yuan in 2018. Mobile operators are expected to occupy the main market of mobile medical in the future.

In April 2019, after two years of preparation, the National Health Commission deployed and China Mobile led the establishment of Lianren Health Care Big Data Technology Co., Ltd., with a total investment of 2 billion yuan. China Mobile holds 49.5% of the shares and becomes the largest shareholder, China Pacific Life Insurance Co., Ltd. and Jinan International Medical Center Development Co., Ltd. rank the second and third largest shareholders.
