A large number of medical consumables, out of public hospital procurement
On September 4, Shaanxi Provincial Public Transaction Resource Center issued the Publicity on the Proposed Cancellation of the Qualification of Some online Medical Consumables Products, which intends to cancel the hanging of a large number of medical consumables.
The document states that the center has recently organized a comparison of the online prices of medical consumables on provincial-level platforms nationwide. After comparing the prices with platforms in Henan, Zhejiang, and Tianjin, it is now planned to cancel the online qualification for products that have not declared the lowest online price in other provinces as required, and will no longer accept online applications for such products within one year.
According to the publicity information, the online consumable products involved in the cancellation of the qualification of the network are up to 31,578. It includes a large number of products from consumable giants such as Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson, Stryker, Abbott, Boston Scientific, Olympus, Gemet, Biotronik, Baxter, 3M, Braun, Lepu, Weigao, Chunli, Double Medical, .Lifetechmed., etc.
For example, a company of Lepu Medical has 475 consumable products in the list, involving coronary thrombosis suction catheter, arterial dilation balloon, vascular sheath, pressure pump, coronary guidance catheter and other categories.
That is to say, once the publicity period is over on September 12, these consumable products will be directly removed from the network, and they will not be online again within 1 year, and it will be difficult to enter public hospitals!
In fact, on July 27, the Shaanxi Provincial Public Resources Trading Center issued the “Notice on the Special Management of the Price of Drugs and medical consumables”, which said to conduct price control on drugs and medical consumables listed on the “limited price catalog” of our provincial procurement platform. Relevant production enterprises are required to enter the bidding and procurement subsystem for the national lowest price adjustment of related consumables from July 31, 2023 to August 14, 2023.
And the Notice clearly states that after the end of this special price control, relevant departments will carry out a comparison of the national lowest prices for online prices on the first working day of each month. For products that fail to link with the national lowest prices within one month as required, once verified, their online qualification will be cancelled, and they will not be allowed to apply for online listing in Shaanxi Province for one year.
From this perspective, the removal of 31000 consumables from the network is a large-scale execution of this document.
