Billions of funds issued! A large number of hospital equipment needs to be upgraded
Recently, the State Council Information Office successfully held a series of press conferences on the “Achievements of China’s High Quality Economic Development”, during which it revealed in detail the country’s investment and development plan in the healthcare sector by 2025.
Mr. Yuan Da, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Development and Reform Commission, stated that this year, 125 national regional medical centers will be supported in the layout and construction of high-level hospitals. 10 billion yuan will be allocated to support the construction of close-knit county – level medical communities, and medical equipment such as CT, B – ultrasound, and hemodialysis machines will be updated for county – level hospitals and township health centers. At the same time, the ward renovation and upgrading initiative will be carried out, with 30,000 two – and three – bed wards to be renovated and upgraded.
In 2025, as the final year of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan, a number of key medical projects, such as the construction of national regional medical centers, the establishment of county – level medical communities, and the improvement of the capabilities of primary medical institutions, will enter a period of concentrated efforts. The potential of the primary medical market is about to be fully unleashed.

Under the strong guidance of national policies, the work of promoting primary healthcare construction in various places has also been carried out intensively this year.
In less than just two months, regions such as Sichuan, Hebei, Liaoning, and Shaanxi have all released equipment renewal projects based on county – level medical communities, with investment amounts exceeding hundreds of millions.
On December 27th, Sichuan Province released a public tender procurement announcement for the equipment renewal and construction project of the county – level medical community. The total budget is 437 million yuan, and it plans to purchase 380 sets of three types of equipment, namely CT, DR, and color Doppler ultrasound machines, in batches.
On January 20th, Hebei Province released the bidding information for the medical equipment renewal project of the county – level medical community, with a total budget of 368 million yuan.
On January 16th, the demand survey and collection for the equipment renewal and procurement project of the county – level medical community in Liaoning Province was launched. It is planned to purchase 24 types of equipment such as CT, C – arm mobile X – ray machines, DR, DSA, color Doppler ultrasound, ultrashort – wave therapy apparatus, and magnetic resonance. The total budget is approximately 440 million yuan.
