Analysis report of import and export trade of monitoring equipment in the first half of 2023

Overall situation

In the first half of 2023, the total import and export trade of China’s monitoring equipment was 388 million US dollars, an increase of 5.42%. Among them, the export value was 108 million US dollars, an increase of 38.19%; Imports amounted to US $280 million, down 3.38% year on yea

From the monthly import and export trade data in the first half of the year, the total import of monitoring equipment reached a peak of 76 million US dollars in March, accounting for 19.52%. The fluctuation of import and export volume from April to June was not obvious.

Regional analysis

1. All continents

From the perspective of total import and export trade, in the first half of 2023, the total import and export trade of China’s monitoring equipment ranked first in Europe of US $140 million, an increase of 14.54%, ranking second and third respectively for North America (US $119 million) and Asia (US $97 million).

(1)Import Market

In terms of import market, in the first half of 2023, China’s guardianship equipment imports amounted to US $281 million, down 3.38% year-on-year, mainly concentrated in Europe, North America and Asia. Europe ranked first with imports of 49 million US dollars, accounting for 45.17%, followed by North America with 42 million US dollars and Asia with 17 million US dollars, accounting for 39.11% and 15.7% respectively.

1Export Market

In the first half of 2023, China’s export of monitoring equipment reached 108 million US dollars, an increase of 38.19% compared to the same period last year. From highest to lowest, the cumulative amount of each continent was North America: 98 million US dollars, accounting for 34.84%, an increase of 27.46%; Asia: US $80 million, accounting for 28.47%, down 1.95% year-on-year; Europe: $0.7 billion, accounting for 24.98%, down 22.55% year on year; South America: 16 million US dollars, accounting for 5.79%, down 28.58%; Africa: $13 million, 4.60%, down 4.78% year on year; Oceania: $0.04 million, 1.32%, down 32.02% year on year.

  1. “Belt and Road” countries

In the first half of 2023, the total import and export trade between China’s guardianship equipment and the “Belt and Road” countries was 99.725 million US dollars, down 2.62% year-on-year, accounting for 25.67% of the total import and export volume of China’s guardianship equipment in the same period.

  • Export Markte

In the first half of 2023, China’s total import of monitoring equipment from the “the Belt and Road” countries  reached US $16.3055 million, a year-on-year increase of 19.60%.The main sources were Singapore, Israel, Romania, India and Malaysia.

2Export Market

In the first half of 2023, China’s exports of monitoring equipment to “One Belt and One Road” countries totaled 83.419,400 US dollars, down 6.03% year-on-year. The main export markets were India, Singapore, Russia, Hong Kong and Thailand.

  1. RCEP Countries

In the first half of 2023, the total import and export trade of China’s monitoring equipment and “RCEP” countries was 49,645,300 US dollars, down 0.38% year-on-year, accounting for 12.78% of the total import and export volume of China’s monitoring equipment in the same period.

From the perspective of RCEP member countries, Singapore ranked first in the total trade volume of monitoring equipment with China in the first half of 2023, with a total import and export volume of 16.9325 million US dollars, accounting for 34.11%. Its import and export volume were both ranked first, with trade volumes of 8.5195 million US dollars and 8.413 million US dollars, accounting for 60.04% and 23.73% respectively. Japan ranks second and third in terms of import volume with $1.51 million (10.64%) and Malaysia with $43600 (0.31%), respectively. The second and third ranked countries in terms of export value are South Korea at $4.7668 million (13.44%) and Japan at $4.4981 million (12.69%), respectively.

 3. Commonwealth of Independent States

In the first half of 2023, the total import and export trade of monitoring equipment between China and CIS countries was 7.4731 million US dollars, down 15.77 percent from the same period last year. Among them, the export volume was 7.4731 million US dollars and the import volume was 0 US dollars.

From the export trade data of CIS countries, Russia ranked first with exports of $4.942,900, down 27.97%; Followed by Kazakhstan $633,800, down 42.55%; Uzbekistan ranked third with $603,500, an increase of 203.50%. In addition, Tajikistan has a higher growth rate of 1930.98%.

In terms of import market, Germany, the United States, Mexico and other countries Were the main sources. Germany ranked first, with imports reaching $25,948,900, accounting for 24.07%. 3Export Market

In terms of export market, in the first half of 2023, China’s guardianship equipment exports were mainly the United States, India, the Netherlands and other countries and regions. Ranked first was the United States, imports reached 89.6942 million US dollars, accounting for 31.97%. It was followed by India with 23.3863 million US dollars, accounting for 8.33%. In addition, Singapore increased by 115.45%.

1Import Market

From the national import customs port trade data point of view, in the first half of 2023, the highest amount of guardianship equipment imports in China was Shanghai, the import amount reached 74,660,800 US dollars, accounting for 69.24% of the country; Guangdong Province ranked second and third respectively with 16.1834 million US dollars (15.01%) and Beijing with 10.0352 million US dollars (9.31%). In addition, Jiangxi Province, Shandong Province, Jiangsu Province, the growth rate ranked in the top three, respectively, 642.47%, 474.98% and 240.54%.

2Export Market

From the trade data of the national export customs ports, the export volume in the first half of 2023 ranked first in Guangdong Province is 19,8611,100 US dollars, accounting for 70.78% of the country; Shanghai ranked second and third respectively with $28.236,500 (10.06%) and Jiangsu Province with $17.012,700 (6.06%). In addition, Henan Province, Chongqing and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region increased significantly, with 530.83%, 466.11% and 398.74%, respectively.

Beijing’s imports in the first half of 2023 totaled 10.0352 million US dollars, down 16.40% year-on-year and up 14.94% quarter-on-quarter.

5)Jiangsu Provincce

The import value of Jiangsu Province in the first half of 2023 totaled $2.8373 million, an increase of 240.54% year-on-year and 188.30% sequentially. 4Analysis of the top five export provinces

1Guangdong Province

Guangdong Province’s exports in the first half of 2023 totaled 19,8611 million US dollars, down 16.40 year-on-year and up 7.64% quarter-on-quarter.

2)Shanghai Municipality

In the first half of 2023, the export value of Shanghai totaled 28.236,500 US dollars, an increase of 67.55% year-on-year, and a decrease of 25.12% quarter-on-quarter.

3).Jiangsu Province

In the first half of 2023, the export value of Jiangsu Province totaled 17,012,700 US dollars, an increase of 29.21% and a decrease of 32.40%.

4)Fujian Province

In the first half of 2023, the export value of Fujian Province totaled 16.1972 million US dollars, an increase of 308.12% year-on-year and an increase of 11.98% quarter-on-quarter.

5)Beijing Municipality

Beijing’s exports in the first half of 2023 totaled 8.1886 million US dollars, an increase of 132.60% and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 22.01%.
